Q: How long have you been in commercial real estate?
A: Almost 25 years
Q: What is your role at G2 Commercial?
A: Just about everything. I’m the Broker for our company, so a fair amount of my time is spent on compliance, transaction review, procedures, and answering questions from our agents. I also serve as our Managing Director and have the pleasure of coaching and mentoring new agents. Business development for our team is also a key function, cultivating relationships with potential clients and engaging with the community.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Columbus?
A: I love the small-town atmosphere of Columbus. Almost anywhere you go here, you’ll run into people you know; I love that. Friends I met 30 years ago are still friends and the relationships will last a lifetime. I moved here in 1985 and knew within a year that Columbus was home, the place where I wanted to start my career, and raise a family.
Q: What has been the biggest change you’ve seen in Columbus?
A: There have been huge, positive changes in Columbus over the last 30 years, particularly in Uptown Columbus; the revitalization and ongoing growth in that area is amazing. When construction began on the Riverwalk in the early 1990s, I thought “This will do incredible things for Columbus.” TSYS built and moved their campus, then River Center, and Columbus State University. Dozens of businesses have moved into Uptown and given new life to old buildings: It’s a night and day difference.
Q: What are some fun facts about you?
A: I love any kind of water sport – boating, sailing, fishing, wakeboarding, waterskiing. My latest accomplishment is wake surfing – thank you, Shaun! I also have a passion for bird hunting, especially turkey hunting.
